Traveling With Cheap Airfare

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

cheap-airfareIf you’ve tried looking for the cheapest airfare, you’ll have realized already just how confusing it can be. There seem to be endless companies all claiming to have the lowest airfares, or saying they know where to find them. Internet is the best place to look for cheap airfare. You just need to go to search engines like Mobissimo.com, Kayak.com or AirfareGlobal.com and enter your date of travel and destination. The recent years has seen a slight drop in the rate of air passengers because of the 9/11 incident. In a bid to constantly reassure their customers enough to come back, airlines offer special deals or packages. Special deals or packages are airline’s way of luring customers to their services.

If you are planning a vacation and if you plan it a little earlier, you are sure to get cheap airfares. Since a vacation package combine different components like flight booking, hotel booking, car booking etc., you get an excellent discount and cheap airfare for these packages. It’s a good idea to check airline sites first when you’re thinking about booking a flight. Or, check out a few of the cheap ticket sites first, and if you see a few cheap airfares from one airline, then visit that airline’s website.

You need to find the right site and the right airline. For this you need to have time. You will need to do lot of searching on the net. You may be lucky and get the best airfare in the first few searches only. Also, always schedule your travel trips for off holiday periods in order to get better airfare deals and reduce the chance of checking in on an overloaded airplane. Extremely cheap airfares aren’t difficult to obtain. All you have to do is bear a positive attitude and be on the lookout for amazing deals-whether on land or online.

Getting the Best Travel Deals

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

Would you like to get the best travel deals available? Then get ready to be open-minded and flexible. Consider going to any one of several destinations, and going at different times than you may have originally planned on, and even doing different things once you get there.

Flexibility Buys The Best Travel Deals

Almost any travel destination has “seasons” which are more crowded and therefore more expensive. Also, airfare varies widely in price from month to month and even according to the day of the week or time of day. Finally, there many activities which may be marginally more entertaining yet cost much more.

Suppose you go on trips to several destinations over the years, using the usual strategy of “I want to go here now and do these things.” On some of these trips you’ll be at the height of the season, meaning it will be expensive for hotels. Airfare will cost a lot if you happen to choose the expensive days and times. With a fixed idea about your activities, you’ll also likely pay more than you need to have a great time. You’ll miss out on some real fun that could be much cheaper.

On the other hand, what if you go somewhere during the off-season, go on the day that has the cheapest plane tickets, and start with the interesting activities that cost less? Perhaps you spend just half as much on average, even though over those years you go to all the same destinations. The savings could mean even more opportunities to travel because of the money saved.

Years ago I went to Ecuador because it was an inexpensive destination. The February departure was chosen because I found plane tickets for $258 round trip from Miami. And though I hadn’t considered taking a tour to Mount Cotopaxi, I discovered that I could do that day-long trip to walk on the glaciers of a volcano for just $15, so I went. You create your own best travel deals if you are flexible and open minded.

Best Travel Deals – The Formula

Try this simple formula for getting the best travel deals:

1. Watch a few travel programs, read some travel magazines, and make a list of six to ten places you might like to visit eventually.

2. Look for the best time to go to each. This means when it would be interesting for you and cheaper than other times – an “off-season” that is still a good time for you to visit.

3. Gather information online. How much will hotels and meals cost? What is there to do and how much you are likely to spend on each of these activities. Take notes, of course.

4. Do an online search for plane tickets before you are ready to start planning. Experiment with different days of the week for departure and return flights to find the cheapest possibilities. This can change, so you’ll be doing this again when you are ready to actually start specific planning. For now you just want an idea of the days that are likely the cheapest.

5. When it’s time to travel, pick from among your listed destinations that are off-season and search all the possible dates you might travel, to find the cheapest airfare. Actually it’s best to do this before you arrange for time off work, so you can take advantage of the best possible travel dates.

6. Purchase your tickets, do some more research, and start packing and planning.

Here’s another tip for getting the best travel deals: Book a hotel only for the day you arrive, and then find your hotels(s) once there. There are many nice, less expensive hotels that you won’t find online, and in our experience, even good package deals are never as cheap as finding your own hotels once you get there, as long as you are not coming there at a busy time. Doing this also allows you more freedom, so you can change your plans as you go, taking advantage of whatever great deals come up.

Getting The Most Out Of Your Travel Deals

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Today, travelers could be overwhelmed by the numerous travel deals being offered. Therefore you should weigh all options before choosing the right one in order to get the most out of it.

The greatest secret to getting an affordable airfare or best travel discounts is to know your budget and what do you really want. Additionally, you should shop and compare deals until you run out of options and choose the best among them.

And importantly, always plan ahead. Nothing is too early when it comes to vacation planning. This will give you ample time to search and choose.

Whether you’re a business traveler or planning a family vacation, here are some travel tips to save you money and choose the best deal:

1. Buy your ticket directly. Travel agents usually charge between $15 and $35 per ticket.

2. Buy your ticket all at the same time instead of buying one at a time. Booking fee may be discounted.

3. Booking for a package tour could be a wise choice for some destinations.

4. When planning a more complex trip, a travel agent can save you more time and money.

5. Compare prices online for the best deal. There are websites that help travelers to shop and compare. Some also provide travel tips and guidelines.

6. Play the seasons. Some travel destinations are cheapest at certain times or season of the year. Booking for an off-peak season also would give you the best deal. 7. Be flexible with travel dates and times. Some airlines and hotels offer substantial discounts if you book one or two days earlier.

8. Smaller airlines often have lesser fees. Additionally, small airlines don’t necessarily mean smaller airplanes.

9. Alternative airport also could provide you with substantial discounts. Ask your travel agent about it.

10. Plan ahead. The earlier you book, the better deal you will have.

11. Buy trip insurance. Insurance will not only save your life but also could save you money. If you end up being sick in foreign country, your insurance back home might not cover it. Thus you might end up using your vacation budget on hospitalization.

12. Sign up for hotel and airline awards programs. Chain hotels usually have award programs; take advantage of it especially if you are a frequent business traveler. Finally, never stop bargaining, always explore the possibility of lower airfare, lower hotel rates. However, it is important to weigh and compare all options since not all cheap travel deals will give you the travel value you deserved. Travel will be more enjoyable if you get the most of your hard earn vacation budget.

Malaysia Airline Tickets

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

When you ask most people what their favorite thing in the world to do all of the will say they love to travel. If you ask the same people where they have been the majority of them will say they have gone nowhere. Then if you ask them why they have gone nowhere they will say that the cost of airline tickets is too much for them to afford. I will be the first to say that airline tickets are a lot more than they should be but there is a ton of ways to get cheap airline tickets to basically anywhere in the world. The key is to know where to look and which airline to look into. We have a few tips for you on how to get some really low fares and some very cheap airline tickets fully legitimately.

The best way that I have found to get cheap airline tickets is to go to the last minute airline ticket websites and see what they have. The airlines must sell tickets to their lights to offset the cost of the flights since no matter how many or how few people are on the flight it must run and they must spend the money. As the flight gets closer the airline will lower the price of their airline tickets to get the plane to fill up. They know that they cannot get full price so they keep lowering it a bit every day until the take off. The closer to the flight that you are willing to book it the cheaper you will get the airline ticket for. The last minute airline ticket websites communicate with the airline and know how low they will go. Since I do not trust these sites I get the number form them and present my offer to the airline. It really does work.

The last minute ticket thing is the best thing I have found to get my cheap airfare. I promise that if your try it out you will be pleased. Besides you have absolutely nothing to lose by trying it but you will lose out on some great airline deals if you do not try it. We always welcome additional airfare deal strategies so if you have some that we have not included please do let us know. Together we can force the airlines to give us the prices we want whether they like it or not. Happy flying folks.
