The idea of partying on the beach is universally appealing, conjuring up images of dancing from sunset to sunrise on golden sands, with bonfires, great music, crashing waves and cocktails in the mix.

From Ibiza to Miami, there are as many types of beach parties as there are party-people looking for a good time. From down and dirty dancing to celebrity-spotting socializing, read on for the 5 best party beaches in the world!

IBIZA, SPAIN

The name Ibiza has been synonymous with the phrase ‘beach party’ ever since the late ‘80’s when the former hangout of hippies and flower-children, metamorphosized into the party capital of the world. Stars, celebs and models all love to get down at the clubs dotted around this picturesque Spanish isle. The Playa d’en Bossa Beach is the longest stretch of beach on the island with its bars and cafés. The far end of the beach (away from Ibiza Town) is calmer, with less people and house music. But for the definitive Ibiza beach party, head to Bora Bora, half way along d’en Bossa beach.

MYKONOS, GREECE

With its welcoming locals and trendy beach bars oceanside, Mykonos is another great place to party on the sands. Head to Paradise Beach Bar, located right on the beach between the palm trees. Here the partying starts early – from 2 pm – and goes on till sunrise the following day. This breathtakingly beautiful island is another favourite destination of the world’s fashionable party-set, so expect to enjoy celebrity-spotting while you dance the night away. Lots of places of historical and cultural interest, plus great tanning opportunities, mean you’ll never be bored while waiting for the fun to begin.

SOUTH BEACH, MIAMI

Where the beautiful people hang out – South Beach offers all the partying you’ll ever need. Although not strictly speaking ON the beach, the numerous fabulous clubs sprinkled along this expensive coastline are so hot that they bring the beach atmosphere right inside. This is where the posh people party, but the good times only get under way from 11 pm, so strolling along the beach, dining out or having a drink in the earlier part of the evening is recommended to avoid arriving too early. Many top model agencies send scouts to South Beach – you never know who might spot you on one of the awesome dance floors. The beach itself is stunning, with white, baby-powder sands caressed by the Atlantic. Not only can you dine here during the day but when the sun goes down you can have fun at the beds on stilts at Nikki Beach.

BLOOMINGDALE AAN ZEE, HOLLAND

This event-venue opened nearly 7 years ago as a beach party for Amsterdam locals. The club has grown to accommodate 2 400 revelers with both in- and out-of-door areas. The setting is one of the most aesthetic on the Netherlands coast. Bloomingdales is renowned for its all-day Sunday parties held regularly throughout the year. The music tends towards chilled, laid-back tunes, perfect for the beach-setting. Top DJ’s are hosted regularly here.

CAMPS BAY, CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA

The white sands of this beautiful beach are popular throughout summer with both locals and international visitors to the Mother City of Cape Town, South Africa. With bars, cafes and restaurants right along the Camps Bay strip there are always trendy and beautiful people spilling out of these venues on to the beach. While volley ball and tanning are popular by day, sundowners and impromptu beach parties are on from early evening to well past midnight. Enjoy music, fire-jugglers and drumming around the huge bonfires which are lit during the summer holiday season.

So if sun, sand and sea make put you in the mood for some sexy partying – why leave the beach? Head for one of these 5 hot spots and the party need never end!

Uluru, widely known as Ayers Rock is one of the major tourist attractions in Australia. Every year it attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors despite the fact that it is located in an area that is well off the beaten track. It is one of those destinations that you have to make a special trip to see and it is well worth the effort.

Most people who go to Uluru go for the purpose of seeing the famous rock formation. More than six miles round and with a height of more than a thousand feet it is certainly impressive. This is especially true because it is located in the middle of a barren landscape, the rock really stands out since it is the only tall feature for hundreds of miles around.

The rock formation may be what draws people to Uluru but it is far form the only thing to see. There is actually quite an extensive park around the site. The area has been home to the aborigines for thousands of years and it provides visitors a great chance to learn about their history. Particularly interesting are the cave paintings.

There are some people who believe that it is inappropriate to visit Uluru because of the fact that it is a sacred location to the aborigines. The problem is that they have basically been forced to move away from the area because of all the tourists. In fact the lack of aborigines in the town around the park is something that a lot of visitors comment on. This is not to say that you shouldn’t go, just that you should think about whether or not it is really a good idea.

If you are going to visit Uluru you are going to have to plan ahead, getting there can be a challenge. There is a resort just outside of the park and it offers the only rooms for more than a hundred miles. The closest city is Alice Springs which is hardly the biggest city in the world or the easiest to get to itself. There is bus service to the park from Alice Springs but realistically you should probably plan on driving to get there.

The best times to visit Uluru are the spring or the fall when it is not too hot or too cold. The summer is unbearably hot while the winter can be quite chilly. Regardless of when you go you are going to have to make sure that you have plenty of supplies as the weather can change very suddenly and you may get stuck out there as the rain can make the roads impassable.

Zagreb is know to be the party capital of Croatia, and the nightlife scene is hectic all year round. Only in the middle of the summer the buzz is fading a bit as the locals are rushing away from the city heat to enjoy the party beaches on the Adriatic coast. Below you’ll find some suggestions and tips to which places you can go to when you are in Croatia’s party capital.

For the young traveler, the most interesting part of Zagreb would be the city’s night clubs and bars. There are plenty of them where you don’t have to pay an entrance fee. A large number of them are situated in the centre, as opposed to other cities, fancier places and student pubs can all be found in close proximity. (You should keep in mind that the Zagreb city centre is compact and easy to get around, so everyone from the artsy fartsy types and students are all in the centre).

However, different types of night clubs play specific music genres. If you like rock music head to Purgaraj, Sax, and Tvornica. If pop music is your cup of tea, go to Lemon club, Boogaloo, Saloon, Gjuro 2 and Jabuka. If you would like to experience Croatian folk music, Ludnica or Lake City will do it for you. For the electronica lovers, go to Shamballa, but the best electronic night club is Aquarious at Jarun Lake.

There is very little or no crowd at all on the beach and you can have all the privacy you want with your loved one. So, let’s get to the important part without wasting another second.

Kauapea Beach

First we will take a look at Kauapea Beach, which is also called Secret Beach. This secret beach is laid with yellow sand and has rock cliffs rising on the other end. The water in the ocean is clear blueish-green and the waves are just right for some surfing action. This beach is the perfect place to get your loved one and relax on the shore, swim in the tides or just bathe under the sun. The silence on the beach ensures that no one will disturb your intimate moments with each other. During the winter, this beach sees rising tides which make it unfit for swimming or snorkeling. But, for the rest of the year you can indulge in some great snorkeling action on this beach. This beach is located in the Kauai island of Hawaii and is accessed by a dirt trail leading to the beach. Despite the ban on nudity in all state beaches, this beach has gained popularity for nudity.

Praia da Ingrina

Praia da Ingrina is a little paradise in itself. This beach has everything you could ask of a secret beach. Praia da Ingrina, located in Vilamoura, Portugal is a breath-taking beauty. The beach is carpeted with soft, white sand, with rising cliffs on one end. The turquoise waters of this ocean are exquisitely stunning. To add to that, this beach is practically a secret; there is hardly a soul on the shores of this beach. There is no way this beach can fail to arouse that sense of romance in you and your partner. The calm tides and solitude at the beach bring a distinct feeling of peace and serenity. Praia da Ingrina nicely avoids the tourist’s resorts nearby, and yet, it is not too far from the city. You can also indulge in activities such as surfing and diving, but you will be required to take permission before diving as certain areas are restricted.

Polihale State Beach

Polihale State Beach is another, one of Hawaii beaches that feature in the top secret beaches around the world. Hawaii is famous for its many beaches and it comes as no surprise that more than one of Hawaii’s beaches should feature in the top list. This beach is quite an eye-candy for those thirsting for quality secret beaches. It is located in the west-most part of Kauai island of Hawaii and this too is led by a dirt path. This beach is by far the biggest, stretching across 17 miles from end to end. It is laid with marvelous, sparkling white sand that is soft on your sole and great to step into. There is plenty of sand on this beach; some of the sand dunes reaching a height of 100 feet. Swimming is generally prohibited in this beach; however, there is a small patch of water called the Queen’s Pond where swimming is safe. But, you should still be careful as there are no lifeguards posted on this beach to save you from drowning.

New Zealand’s cultural centre is definitely the Bay of Plenty city of Rotorua. The city is surrounded by gorgeous lakes and is in the centre of a range of active thermal activity. When you couple that with the huge variety of Maori cultural experiences that Rotorua offers, it can be a bit like going back in time and experiencing New Zealand a century ago. Having said that, Rotorua is also an extremely modern city, with everything you need to enjoy the holiday of a lifetime.

Rotorua is an inland city surrounded by lakes. Shelter from high country to the south makes the city less windy than many other places in New Zealand. In summer, Rotorua is sunny and buzzing with adventure. The temperature range is from about 21 – 29 degrees Celsius. The winter months usually bring clear and crisp weather, with a temperature range of 9 – 16 degrees Celsius.

Whatever the season, you won’t have any trouble finding something to do in Rotorua. The places to enjoy are all relatively close to the city centre and well signposted. In the morning you can be travelling up the side of a mountain in a gondola before speeding down the popular luge track and in the afternoon you can be strolling through native bush learning about the life cycle of trout. Or you can be rolling down the hill inside the Zorb in the morning and relaxing in thermal baths in the afternoon. On another day you can be visiting geysers and mud pools in the morning and biking through a redwood forest in the afternoon. The evenings offer plenty of chances to relax as well as taking in an array of spectacular Maori cultural performances complete with the delicious traditional Maori Hangi meal.

Rotorua is packed full of interesting, adventurous and educational activities for the whole family and one of the best options for getting the best value for money in Rotorua is to base yourself in a motel. When you stay in a motel, you have space to spread out and relax after a busy day of adventure and the kids can release all their extra energy outside on the trampoline, at the playground or in the motel swimming pool. You can save money by cooking your own meals and you will have all the comforts of home to keep you happy in the evening as you prepare for the next day of sightseeing.

It is 34 km long and as much as 23 km wide, amounting to 431 square kilometres. It is situated in the western area of the North Atlantic and is 100 km east of the Windward Islands and the Caribbean Sea. In recent years it has become extremely popular with couples searching for the perfect island venue in which to hold their weddings in the Caribbean – here are a few reasons why.

Barbados’ Climate

Barbados has a moderate tropical climate, involving both a wet season (June to November) and a drier season (December to May). The annual precipitation ranges between 1,000 mm and 2,300 mm.

Annual high temperatures in Barbados range from 27.8 to 30 degrees Celsius, while annual low temperatures range from 23.3 to 26.1 degrees Celsius, making Barbados a perfect location for couples looking to have their weddings in the Caribbean in a warm to moderately hot location.

Weddings in the Caribbean – Barbados’ Wedding Traditions

Like other Caribbean locations, one of Barbados’ wedding traditions is serving guests a portion of the traditional black cake that is made with dried fruit and rum in a box. At some Barbadan weddings, it is placed on the table along with other gifts for the guests, while at others it is handed directly to the guests when they are leaving or signing the guest book.

As one can imagine, rum is a popular drink on Barbados, as it is throughout the Caribbean. Couples serving rum at their weddings in the Caribbean will certainly add some Barbadan flair and fun to their weddings.

A popular food served at Barbadan weddings is flying fish, usually either steamed or fried. In fact, along with cou-cou (mostly made up of cornmeal and okra), flying fish make up the national dish of Barbados. Certainly, adding this authentic meal to your wedding in the Caribbean will make a lasting impression on your guests!

A popular Barbadan wedding tradition is the handing out of sugar almond gift bags for the guests. These bags are usually tied with beautiful ribbon. Weddings in the Caribbean are memorable enough, but this small but thoughtful gesture will make them even more so for your guests.

Another popular Barbadan wedding tradition is the unity candle ceremony, which involves the lighting of a single candle. This is an outward sign of the joining of the couple’s lives in the union of matrimony. The “Gift of Rose” is a Barbadan wedding tradition where the bride and groom give each other a single red rose. As in other places, a single red rose means “I Love You,” and this act acknowledges the gift of love that the bride and groom have given to each other.

Two final Barbadan wedding traditions that deserve mention include the jumping of the broom and dove releasing. The jumping of the broom by the bride and groom indicates the crossing over a threshold (single life) into a new life (married life). The dove releasing represents the union, fidelity, and love of the marriage.

Famous for its typical products like limoncello, colorful local traditions and breathtaking views. But not only. The azure sky and crystal clear water from centuries invite tourists from all over the world. Or is there something else?

In fact this ancient Greek city take the name from word Syrenusion or Syreon which literally means “The land of the Sirens”, for probably it is a home place of sirens who with their beautiful songs lead the ships to their doom. Indeed the great Homer in his “Odyssey” wrote about their beautiful but misleading singing to which Odysseus escaped while swimming across the Sorrento Gulf. And so the myth of Sorrento Sirens is one of ancient believes of local tradition and culture, seems those delightful creatures have chosen the Sorrento as their dwelling place. According to ancient historic exactly here in this amazing spot was located a Temple of the Sirens, which actual location till today remains a mystery.

The presence of those legendary beings appears in writing of many ancient historians and philosophers, such as Heraclitus of Ephesus, Strabo, Virgil, Cicero who considered them as s symbol of eloquence and knowledge. Their myth has evaluated as the time passed by, the variations of legend changed several times the dwelling place of those mysterious half women – half fishes, but originally it was supposed to be the Gallo Islands, in ancient times called “Le sirenuse”.

Also the appearance of sirens changed. Although dismay created the lovely picture of young girl with fish tail n a place of legs, completely harmless being, the original image is far from this idea. As a personification of sea dangers the ancient sirens where described as a rapturous birds with women faces. Most famous of those fabulous being in mythological literature were called: Partenope, Leucosia and Ligia. The legend that lives in Sorrento for over 30 centuries, inspirited painters, writers and poets, such as lord Byron, Goethe, Wagner and Ibsen. The legend together with breathtaking landscapes, blue of sky and sea, gentle breeze from Mediterranean sea makes Sorrento one of most romantic places in a world. Charming dreamy sea lit by red sunsets, stormy mornings with raging sea. Legends and history merged with local hospitality and joyous art of living invites you for a magic trip into Italian wonderland.

Whatever for your holidays, your honeymoon or wedding in Italy, Sorrento is a perfect place for everyone. Let yourself be charmed and bewitched by its beauty and who knows, maybe walking along the beach you will hear the distant singing of Sirens…

The border area of Tuscany and Umbria in Italy is a wonderful place to stay as the visitor is able to visit the many cities and towns of the two regions while staying in one of the most picturesque areas the world has to offer and enjoying one of its greatest cuisines. The area is largely rural, the main crops are sunflowers, maize, olives, vines and tobacco which is being phased out. Modernity has been slow to reach this area and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, many visitors feel as if they had stepped back in time 30 or 40 years. Staying in this area you are within 90% of UNESCOs world art treasures: Rome and Florence are within two hours drive and one must not forget the important art works of nearer towns such as Arezzo, Siena, Perugia and Assisi. Apart from their art treasures these towns are places everyone enjoys visiting. All have their own architectural delights and meandering lanes and interesting shops and restaurants. Also worth visiting are
the Tuscan towns of ; Cortona and Sansepolcro and the Umbrian towns of Gubbio,Citta di Castello, Todi and Orvieto. Lovers of ceramics will also want to visit Deruta famous for its production of some the world’s finest majolica.

Wine lovers are also in for a treat as many great wines are found in this area. Although Chianti is not strictly on the Tuscany Umbria border it is only a short drive. The brunellos of Montalcino and Vino Nobile of Montepulciano are found in this area.

There is a wide choice of accommodation available for those wishing to come to this area of Italy. Agriturismi offering either self-catering apartments or B&B type accommodation have sprung up everywhere. A popular choice for the visitor to this area of Tuscany and Umbria is to rent a self-catering villa, farmhouse or apartment through a rental agency. With a rental agency one can be sure that the house or apartment has been properly scrutinised and is priced fairly to reflect its quality, situation and accessibility. Farmhouses, villas and apartments with or without swimming pools are all available. If one wishes to stay in a country property in this area car hire is almost essential. Public transport in the rural areas of Tuscany and Umbria although reliable, is sparse. Most villages have a bus service once a day, relying upon this creates a lack of flexibility. Many of the farmhouses and villas for holiday rental are on hillsides a good walk from a main road. Often vacation rental houses in Tuscany and Umbria are reached along gravel roads or “strade bianche”. City inhabitants are often alarmed at these gravel roads but after the initial drive along them the nerves are soon overcome.

People are curious to understand the facts of how the great wall came about; however, it is not until one visits this majestic structure, you can truly understand the significance of the great wall to China and the rest of the world.

The origin of story of the great wall is unknown, but history shows that the construction of the wall began in the early seventh century B.C and was made out of stone, wood, grass and earth. This was when the earliest regional kingdom was built for the defensive military needs. The purpose was to protect the farming lands from the invasion of the tribes from the north and to hold the natives from vacating the lands. Used as a military demarcation, there were various watchtowers which stood at varying distances from each other; these towers substituted the time warning system used during the ancient times. The fire and smoke signaled the day and night time respectively. Many of these watch towers still remain in their original position where they stood while some have been destroyed during the revolution.

Over the years, parts of the great wall was destroyed and rebuilt and more sections were added. Due to this construction, it stretched so wide from the east to the west bordering almost the entire country. At present, they say it measures about 7300km from one end to the other.
There are different sections to travel the wall, all of which have different attractions and features. The sections also represent the roles played during the construction of the great wall. For adventure lovers, it would be a challenging task to travel the entire length of the wall. The Great Wall Marathon and Half Marathon is an annual marathon race which takes place every year in China. For runners and adventures, this marathon is one of the experiences of a lifetime as they run through 7km of the incredible wall passing through beautiful countryside villages and mountain trails.

For tourists on short stays in China, climbing the great wall from almost any part of northern china is possible, although, many travelers prefer to climb the wall from Beijing because the sections of this part of the wall are very good for sightseeing and have great features. Besides that, it affords them the opportunity to see other historical attractions like the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, and Tiananmen Square etc.

The most popular sections to visit and climb the great wall of China in Beijing are the Badaling, Simatai, and Mutianyu sections.

Badaling section of the great wall is located 70 km away from the center of Beijing and is the most popular section to climb the wall in Beijing. It was the first part of the wall to be opened to tourists. History has it that Badaling section was built to protect the Juyongguan Pass, along which the Guan’gou gorge and several interesting sites of interest are located. This section of the Great Wall was made by huge bar stones and paved with square bricks making the wall pavement smoothly ordered. The Badaling section became a national cultural relic and a world heritage listing by United Nations in 1987.

Simatai section in Beijing is a very remote and quiet section on the great wall. The ruins and untouched parts of this section is what helped Simatai section earn its reputation of being the unique section of the wall. There are features retained from over the years which were untouched and looks like what it used to be like over 500 years ago. This section of the wall has about twelve watch towers at different intervals and takes about 2hours to reach the twelfth tower. Simatai section is great for adventure hikers and trekkers.

The Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is located on Huairou County northeast of Beijing. This section of the wall is known for its unique quality of construction and features compared to other sections of the wall. It is known as the main essence of the great wall because of the style which it was built.

In Summary, traveling the great wall of China is one of the greatest experiences of a lifetime and it is difficult to understand its history until it is visited. It is assumed to be one of the top 100 things to do in this lifetime.
